Since the time of the 1937 Irish Folklore Commission project, life has changed greatly in Ireland. Today, leaving for another country does not mean long-term separation. It is easy to keep in touch. The speed at which people can travel around the world would have surprised everyone in 193 leading to a new and vibrant cultural diversity;
Then there is electricity and all that it powers in the home. None of that was available in 1937. What changes will the next seventy years bring about?

The children from the Glen school imagined Front pages for Longford newspapers in the year 2077. What might be on the front page in seventy years time?
Jason thought there might be many more windmills by then.
Aishling predicted the Playstation 50 and Sarah fore-saw a new Hoverport for Edgeworthstown.
With the residents of The Manor, the children explored the contents of a 2007 shopping bag. This lead to a lot of discussion about how the style of food we can buy has changed over the years and how it might further change in the next seventy years.
