The children from Augnacliffe had recently undertaken class projects about the stories and places in their own local area.
Rejoining with the men from the Augnacliffe Active Age Group offered a chance to build on and enrich their already excellent investigations.
The children met Ned who used to be the local Blacksmith. He was able to tell them a lot about the local forge.
The children decided to record stories that the group had to tell. Chris showed them how to be Scribes, and helped them to practise listening and asking questions.
Everyone enjoyed the Scribing session both listening to and telling stories.
We looked at stories that were written in Augnacliffe school in 1937.
Some of the stories we found in the folklore collection were written by relatives, brothers and sisters of the men in the group.
Maybe some of the stories we collected in 2007 will be read in 70 years time.
